City Ballet performances - Art in Motion.

A City Ballet of Wilmington performance is a complete theatrical work of art, with engaging music, vivid scenery and costumes, and compelling stories and characters, all of which accompanies beautiful classical and contemporary ballet choreography performed by exquisitely trained dancers.
Over the past 20 years, Artistic Director and choreographer Andrea C. Hill has staged dozens of full-length classical and original ballets utilizing students of all ages and levels, from beginning to professional.
Repertoire includes: ▫ Coppélia ▫ Petrouchka ▫ The Phantom of the Opera ▫ Cinderella ▫ The Nutcracker ▫ Peter Pan ▫ The Firebird ▫ A Midsummer Night's Dream ▫ The Crucible ▫ and many more!

City Ballet School Students (Beginning ages 5+),
and Boys/ Men's Programs (Youth-Adult)

Picture
Company members (age 13-adult) are joined in performance by the City Ballet Apprentice Company (Intermediate ages 9-12), as well as City Ballet school students (Beginning ages 4+) who are carefully incorporated into the ballet repertoire the company performs. It is a great learning opportunity for the young students to take part in a professional level production and be inspired by the older company members. Our apprentice company and young students add their own special performance magic - as "Opera Rats" (Paris Opera Ballet Students) in Phantom of the Opera, "Angels" in The Snow Queen,   "Tinkerbell's Fairies" in Peter Pan, or Flowers in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

City Ballet also provides male dance students and boys with excellent performing opportunities where they can enjoy the art of dance with respect and dignity.  After all, who wouldn't want to be a pirate or crocodile in Peter Pan, a chimney sweep in The Pied Piper, or the "Phantom" in Phantom of the Opera?!
